Notes from the Music Room

Grade 1-3's field trip to the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra!

We were fortunate to have front row seats at our field trip to the WSO last week! What a fun adventure! Students travelled around the world experiencing music and dance from many different countries with Mark and Manny the Tuba!
Grade 4-5 students have the opportunity to go to the WSO on Feb. 11th. Please make sure permission slips are in by the end of this week!

 















The Grade 4-5 students are attending the St. James-Assiniboia Musical Theatre production of Lion King on Monday, Feb. 1st. Please make sure those permission forms are in by Friday, Jan. 29th.

Students in Grade 3-5 are working hard on learning and mastering the recorder. Students are working towards their Black Belt in the Recorder Karate program. Even 5 minutes a day of practicing at home can help students achieve these goals! Your support is appreciated from home!



Choir Festival Season is approaching quickly! Athlone Primary and Intermediate Choirs are performing at the St. James Music Celebration Festival and the Winnipeg Music Festival.

Some dates to put on your calendars are:

Music Celebration at Sturgeon Creek United Church:

Grade 1-2 Primary Choir performs on Tuesday, Feb. 9th at 5:30 p.m.

Grade 3-5 Intermediate Choir performs on Tuesday, Feb. 9th at 6:10 p.m.

Winnipeg Music Festival at Westminster United Church:

Grade 1-2 Primary Choir performs on March 1^st at 12:30 p.m.

Grade 3-5 Intermediate Choir performs on March 2^nd at 12:30 p.m.
